Some days are about much more than business.
In September, Bathroom & Kitchen Eleven was proud to sponsor the Bee-lieve Foundation at The Big Buzz 26, a charity cricket day held at The Sports Ground in Guildford.
BK11 sponsored the shirts worn by the Bee-lieve team mascots, while our founder and Managing Director, Ben Setterfield, also made a donation to Bee-lieve Foundation on behalf of Bathroom & Kitchen Eleven.
It was a small part in a much bigger day, but one we were very pleased to be involved in.
Supporting Bee-lieve Foundation
The Bee-lieve Foundation supports the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, working with schools to provide early intervention programmes, staff training, wellbeing resources and specialist support.
The Big Buzz 26 brought that work to life through a day of cricket, family activities and fundraising in Guildford.
At the centre of the event was a charity T20 match between the Bee-lieve XI and Lashings World XI, bringing local players onto the same field as former international cricketers including Monty Panesar, Saqlain Mushtaq, Saj Mahmood and Adam Hollioake.
A memorable day in Guildford
The event brought together families, local businesses, supporters and some very recognisable names from the cricket world, all with the same aim of raising funds and awareness for Bee-lieve.
There were some brilliant stories around the day too.
One of the young people involved was Sam Bodoano from Worplesdon, who is in line to become one of Bee-lieve’s Young Ambassadors.
Shortly before the event, Sam completed an extraordinary 100km run from Lord’s Cricket Ground to Valley End Cricket Club as part of an attempt to break the world record for the longest run-up to bowl a cricket ball.
It felt very fitting for a day centred around young people, resilience and community.
Ben also caught up after the match with Joe Birmingham, who played for the Bee-lieve XI, and Matt from Prestige Flooring Co., another local business supporting the occasion.
Proud to play a small part
At BK11, most of our work is naturally centred around the homes and clients we look after across Surrey and South West London.
But being part of a local business also means supporting the communities around us when we can.
The work Bee-lieve Foundation is doing for children and young people’s mental health is incredibly important, and we were very happy to contribute to The Big Buzz 26.
More than anything, it was simply a great day for a very worthwhile cause.
