Our clients came to us wanting a handmade kitchen after we designed and installed their bathroom. Looking for the same project managed service with attention to detail.
Their brief was to create a warm, homely, and rustic feel, using a mix of materials such as painted cabinets, timber, and exposed brick. The focus was on warmer tones, opting for beige and olive green rather than cool greys. The area needed more balance than the current kitchen offered. Marrying an elegant soft look & feel while creating functionality.
The bespoke handmade units allowed us to create ample storage with clever space saving internal drawers and baskets. We used a small section of the large garage to create a utility room. Placing the tumble dryer on a shelf above the washing machine and adding storage from floor to ceiling to house cleaning goods. Adding a discrete cupboard within the cavity of a thick wall – perfect for our clients much loved baking goods!
This in turn, freed up space within the kitchen. While creating a natural space for a seating area opposite the patio doors. Handmade units were designed to frame the exposed brick, adding warmth to the project. By housing a fridge-freezer one side and a pantry the other, we were able to keep a streamlined look. Offering a calming place to dine while showing off beautiful finishes and textures.
The dining table used to take a great deal of space in the kitchen, with this moved to the end of the room, we had ample space to create split level units and a tall pantry style cupboard. Adding a built in microwave unit. Enabling the counter space to be kept free.
Another space saving hack, was to add a tap by Quooker. In a fabulous fusion patinated brass finish, it is a practical and stylish addition eliminating the need for a kettle.
Our clients can now enjoy this beautifully designed handmade solid wood kitchen, with its calm, spacious and user friendly zones.
