Our clients wanted a minimalist master ensuite for their home in Ockham. They were after an elegant, luxurious and spacious bathroom design with soft textures and warm accents throughout. Their existing ensuite was small and unassuming.
We were able to take dead space from an adjacent guest bedroom and incorporate it with our clients existing ensuite – almost doubling the footprint. By removing the end wall within the ensuite, we opened up into the dead space and created zones; with wetroom, basin, bathing area and hidden around the corner we placed the WC.
To create a calming space, we used soft tones throughout. Notably the large tiles in Toscana Bone and Old Natural by Porcelanosa. Using a textured tile behind the bath and in the wetroom area, adds depth and interest to the design. In keeping with the minimalist look, we added a bespoke double cast concrete basin, offering a sleek finish. Added texture is brought in with brushed nickel brassware and flush plate.
To create extra softness within the minimalist master ensuite, we put in hidden lighting within the recessed shelves above the bath, WC and in the shower. For extra ambiance, we put lighting behind the bath and under the basin.
The bathroom has underfloor heating and a low level radiator. To keep the design simplistic, we used two heated towel bars in brushed nickel. To finish the look, we used a frameless shower screen by Matki.
