Yin & Yang – a balance for life.
Our clients wanted a sleek kitchen with a touch of drama, yet serene and with plenty of storage. They came back to us after we had designed and installed an ensuite and family bathroom at their home in East Molesey.
Our clients had a dated kitchen that offered plenty of storage, but felt shoehorned into the space. The area didn’t flow with the breakfast table in the middle of the working kitchen space. Our clients liked the idea of a handless design with modern tones and textures. Their brief, was to get away from the old style kitchen.
We restructured the layout to create a much more linear design, opening up the space and creating a breakfast bar that flowed with the rest of the kitchen. We added drama with the Yin & Yang combination of white and black units.
By using Venis Tanzania wood effect tiles by Porcelanosa for the feature wall, and contrasting this with smooth cabinets. The room offers different textures. This is enhanced by the concrete effect porcelain worktop, which allows for a super sleek look at only 10mm thick. It is also incredibly durable and resistant to heat and moisture.
To bring more light into the space, we removed the overhanging pelmet in front of the window, allowing light to flood into the room. This reflects off the mirrored splashback opposite the window.
The utility room positioned behind the kitchen, now has a designated wine fridge. Plus plenty of storage for laundry and cleaning items.
