Playful Piazza in Thames Ditton
Designed for a young family, this bathroom strikes a balance between playfulness and longevity. To ensure the space matures alongside the children, we selected a large-format Piazza porcelain tile as the foundation. We then paired this with a horizontal wood-effect porcelain tile from Ca’ Pietra, wrapping all three shower walls to add texture and warmth without compromising on durability.
To create a cohesive yet spirited aesthetic, we used the Piazza tile as our primary design anchor. By identifying the various colour points within the tile's pattern, we were able to seamlessly marry up the rest of the fixtures and finishes, resulting in a cohesive, intentional palette. Ensuring a harmonious colour scheme that feels both playful for children and sophisticated for adults.
The Dansani furniture serves as a primary focal point, with a deep blue finish inspired by a single speck of colour within the Piazza tile base. This is topped with a crisp white basin and matching white handles for a sharp, clean contrast. We drew out the tile’s orange accents by incorporating bronze brassware from Vado, creating a warm metallic theme that continues into the shower fittings. A striking terracotta radiator makes a statement against soft grey walls, while an oversized mirror and a white pendant light provide the final touches of style and class to this playful space.
Ultimately, the space functions as a highly practical family shower room that successfully retains the playful spirit requested by our clients. By grounding the design in durable, high-quality materials and using a sophisticated colour-matching strategy, we’ve created a bathroom that is as functional for the morning rush as it is fun for the children as they grow.
